Fighting creatures from another planet, Russian submarines, scary ghosts, and coming up against the Crimson Horror are just some of the things going on in the dear Doctor’s (played by Matt Smith) life. In other words his plate is full. On top of all this he has to look for his missing companion, Clara (played by Jenna-Louise Coleman), who has already gone missing twice previous. It becomes more and more obvious that this Doctor’s work is never done.
Episode 1: The Bells of St. John: The Doctor tries to figure out Clara. They meet in present day London but Clara does not seem to know him. Despite this it is up to the Doctor to save her from being uploaded to a data cloud.
Episode 2: The Rings of Akhaten: Clara asks the Doctor to take her to some spectacular time in history. He decides to bring her to visit the pyramid of the Rings of Akhaten. It happens that they arrive in time for a festival that only happens every 1,000 years.
Episode 3: Cold War: After their adventure at Akhaten, Clara and the Doctor are ready for some relaxation. They decide to go to Las Vegas but it turns out to be anything but relaxing as they find themselves on a submarine with a dangerous passenger.
Episode 4: Hide: The retired Major Alec Palmer (played by Dougray Scott) is in an old manor in the year 1974 and with Emma Grayling (played by Jessica Raine). Their ghost hunting equipment starts going wild. Just then the Doctor and Clara arrive claiming to be there to locate a ghost.
Episode 5: Journey to the Center of the TARDIS: Owners of a salvation company the brothers Van Baalen are using a Magno-Grab in order to pull in the TARDIS. The Doctor makes is out of it as it is leaking poison but Clara is not so lucky.
Episode 6: The Crimson Horror: Traveling back to 1893 the Paternoster Gang has been hired to figure out what happened to Edmund Thursday (played by Brendan Patricks) who arrived at a Sweetville factory and next time he turned up he was dead plus looking like a piece of candy.
Episode 7: Nightmare in Silver: Clara, Angie (played by Eve De Leon Allen) and Artie (played by Kassius Johnson) are taken by the Doctor to Hedgwick’s World of Wonders. Glee soon turns to sadness when they arrive and the park is in ruins.
Episode 8: The Name of the Doctor: Vastra (played by Neve McIntosh), Strax (played by Dan Starkey) and Jenny (played by Catrin Stewart) are all kidnapped by The Great Intelligence in an effort to force the Doctor to open his tomb on Trenzalore.
