This is a series which shot out of the gates. The show which deals with a small town in the southern part of the United States in which vampires live amongst the humans was hot, hot, hot. When the quality of the show went up and down in the first four season True Blood’s popularity ebbed and flowed. Longtime fans, I’m sure, were on the edge of their seats about season five. Would it be good or poor? Would HBO continue to fund the series?
Fans can relax as season five was of better quality than season four. It is a semi-return to form with the show being cheesy rather than ridiculous and less predictable. Lots of shaking up goes on in season five including some things related to major characters. This could be because it was the show’s creator Alan Ball’s final season. Who knows. All I can say is that those who watched benefitted.
