Marvel comic book characters have been constant sellers since the beginning. Granted, there are some characters that are more popular than the others. Those top of the charts ones have been gathered together in one group called the Justice League. The Justice League involves Superman, Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, and Cyborg. Because of the draw of the characters the Justice League has been the subject of many animated movies. The quality has been mixed with some being very entertaining while others less so.
The source material or comic book for this one has been read by many and thoroughly enjoyed. Fans will have high expectations going into the animated version. I think, for the most part, that they will not be happy due to some lacklustre voice acting, weak animation and changes to the story. The lacklustre voice acting was a disappointment as they have plenty of talent with Ron Perlman, Dana Delaney, Nathan Fillion, Cary Elwes, C. Thomas Howell, and Kevin Conroy on board. Several of the characters sound dull and deadpan which takes away from the story.
After an evening spent disrupting the plans of some Rogues, The Flash (voiced by Justin Chambers) has done something which causes a ripple in the universe. He wakes up the next morning only to find himself in some sort of parallel universe. Once he collects himself he begins to realize that in this existence he is not a superhero and the planet is in the middle of World War III. His co-superheroes from the Justice League all also exist in this parallel universe but they are not the same at all. The war sees Wonder Woman’s (voiced by Vanessa Marshall) Amazons facing off against Aquaman’s (voiced by Cary Elwes) Atlanteans. The Flash with the help of Cyborg (voiced by Michael B. Jordan) tries to figure things out and attempt at getting back to the life and world he knows.
