For those not in the know Celtic Woman is an Irish singing group that performs traditional Irish songs or covers popular songs giving them an Irish twist. The band’s lineup has changed over the years with each new member possessing a great voice.
Filmed in 2013 at the University of Notre Dame the concert as part of their world tour. More interactive a concert than your typical show, the crowd laps it up. With the girls beautiful voices and dancers to help tell the tales of the songs they are singing it all adds up to a magical show. To top it all off you get an acclaimed group of musicians, the Aontas Choir, bagpipers, and Celtic dancers.
Shooting a film of live shows is a tough thing to do as each one pretty much looks like the next. There is not much you can do to differentiate yourself from all the others. As such I’m sure directors of concert films are always itching to try something out. Well that is all well and good but taking endless shots of the crowd is not the way to go. I know I am not a director though I do feel qualified to say this as I do watch a great number of films. As such I have gained some insight into what works for viewers and what does not. When I go to live shows I do not pay to watch the crowd so why would I want this in a blu-ray of it? Just saying…
