Groenland Ready to Impress

Quebec indie band Groenland made an impression upon folks at Osheaga last year.  It has only been going uphill for them since.  Their song “The Chase” was used in a web ad by biggie British Airways.  Their song “Daydreaming” was used on the season premiere this season of The Good Wife.  They were nominated for two ADISQ (Quebec equivalent of the Grammys) awards.  Just recently they won two awards, Best Pop Album and Breakthrough Artist of the Year, at the Quebec Indie Music Awards.  Seems they will only remain “indie” if they choose to.

Groenland, a band whose sound has been labeled as orchestral pop, consists of Sabrina Halde (vocals, ukulele, keyboards, percussion), Jean-Vivier Lévesque (percussion, keyboards), Jonathan Charette (drums), Simon Gosselin (bass), Gabrielle Girard-Charest (cello), and Fanny C. Laurin (violin).
