Not bad for a crooner from Canada. Michael Bublé has in just a couple of years set himself up as the crooner par excellence for this generation. And with his impeccable sense of timing, a charming on stage personality, charisma to burn, good looks, and a pleasing voice he has won himself massive worldwide commercial success in a genre of music in which that doesn’t usually happen. He has taken a musical genre of the time of Frank Sinatra and make it fresh and relevant again.
Not since Harry Connick Jr. have we witnessed a male vocalist who has sold so many albums as a crooner. Covering big band hits of the past like “You’re Nobody Til Somebody Loves You”, “Fever”, “Sway”, and “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” and more modern songs like “Wonderful Tonight”, “Always On My Mind”, “Kissing a Fool”, and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” he has been able to put his own stamp on these numbers. That is an impressive thing. Anyone can cover a famous song, but to make it your own is on a completely different level. Bublé has also had success with original hits like “Haven’t Met You Yet”, “Home” and “Everything”.
