It’s Time for the Annual Vans Warped Tour’s Visit to Montreal

vans warped tour 2014The 2014 Vans Warped Tour is filled with a bunch of different kinds of musical acts.  A touring music festival that was begun by the skateboard shoe company in 1995 and was a showcase for punk rock.  It has evolved over its 20 editions and now the festival embraces all types of music.

Each stop on the tour features a gang of different acts as well as the usuals.  There are well-known successful acts, up and comers alongside acts waiting to be discovered by music fans.  Amongst the bigger, well-known acts you can see Less Than Jake (ska/punk), The Devil Wears Prada (metal/alternative), Saves the Day (punk/alternative), and Yellowcard (pop punk/rock).  There are acts from around the world like Canadian act Courage My Love (alternative/pop punk), Brits Neck Deep (pop punk), Japan One Ok Rock (rock/emo), and Aussies Parkway Drive (hardcore/metal).  As for different musical genres that are represented they include hip-hop/metal (Scare Don’t Fear), rock/hardcore (SECRETS), punk/pop punk (Teenage Bottlerockets), and hardcore/rock (A Lot Like Birds).  To top it off you have bands with great names like Beebs and her Moneymakes (ska/rock), Chunk! No Captain Chunk! (pop punk/hardcore), Cute is What We Aim For (pop punk/alternative), and Icon for Hire (rock/pop).

Besides the music there are a cornucopia of different types of activities, activities and things to do.  There will be a skate ramp set up with some of Vans’ best skaters doing demos, bands doing signings at the Vans’ tent, if you are one of the first 100 ticketholders to donate blood you get a backstage wristband, cool off at the Warped Tour Cool Gear Hydration Stations, a Reverse Daycare area for parents who accompanied their teens to sit down and cool off, and Slip and Slide.  Best of all is that each teenager who buys a ticket is allowed to bring their parent in for free.  They really want young music fans to experience Vans Warped Tour.  Plus there is plenty of food vendors and water offered for a cheap price.
