A play about a refugee from Sudan living with a family of three North American women. He gets preferential treatment from the mother and this is to the dismay of a returning home adult daughter due to her marriage is on the rocks. The other daughter is younger and is infatuated with the boarder.
The mystery of what his life was back in his home country, the differences of color and clash of cultures is the focus of this drama that has some humorous moments.
The set design is simple and effective. It takes place in the house where they all live. Stage lighting and the use of multimedia slides and Africanized pop music soundtracks liven up this serious themed plot.
It will leave you thinking.
