bryan ferry avonmoreSome people get numerically older but never seem to age meaning they keep up with the times. Such a person is Bryan Ferry. The sixty-nine-year-old former frontman of Roxy Music remains as cool and suave as he ever was. On his first album in two years the production is lush and the arrangements impeccable. Part of the credit goes to the producer and part goes to his band plus he has a song in which there are six guitarists including Johnny Marr (The Smiths), Neil Hubband (Roxy Music) and Nile Rogers (Chic). Oozes slickness and just plain cool. Loungey and swarmy without being sickening. He croons in a way that sounds like he is just about to fall asleep and yet it is totally engaging. Dunno how he does it. Just to make sure he was keeping relevant he partners up with EDM force Todd Terje on the track “Johnny & Mary” formerly done by Robert Palmer. Adult contemporary smoothness.
