Another example of an American adaptation of a well-done and popular U.K. series. Shameless is unlike anything else on television. A family drama with emphasis on the drama. The storylines are nontypical and the acting is strong. If you are not on board check it out and find out the left of center series that millions have already discovered.
It is another cold winter in Chicago and the Gallagher family is having a tough time as they wait to see what is going to happen to the patriarch. Fiona (played by Emmy Rossum), eldest daughter, finally has some stability in her life with a job and a boyfriend. Son Lip (played by Jeremy Allen White) has graduated from high school and is now enrolled in college. Could the Gallaghers be on their way to becoming a “normal” family? Doubtful but let’s enjoy this small bout of normalcy while it lasts.
Episode 1: Frank (played by William H. Macy) returns to his family but it is not a smooth homecoming. Lip starts college while Ian (played by Cameron Monaghan) is still missing.
Episode 2: My Oldest Daughter: Kev (played by Steve Howey) inherits the Alibi Room. A few surprises are in store for him and Veronica (played by Shaola Hampton).
Episode 3: Like Father, Like Daughter: Frank is still awaiting an organ donor. He decides his best course of action is attempting to find his eldest daughter, Sammi (played by Emily Bergl).
Episode 4: Strangers on a Train: Fiona continues, behind Mike’s (played by Jake McDorman) back, to get together with Robbie (played by Nick Gehlfuss). Frank goes back to his old scams in order to pay for his liver transplant.
Episode 5: There’s the Rub: All the bad choices she makes in regards to Robbie come back to bite Fiona on the butt. Frank and Sammi spend some father-daughter time together catching up.
Episode 6: Iron City: After Liam’s (played by Brenden Sims) accident Fiona ends up in jail. After his sweat lodge session Frank wakes up in the hospital.
Episode 7: A Jailbird, Invalid, Martyr, Cutter, Retard, and Parasitic Twin: Fiona is released from prison and due to a court order has to remain in the house. Lip is angry but tries to keep the family together.
Episode 8: Hope Springs Paternal: Kev continues to tighten up the family’s home security. Fiona gets ready for a visit from her parole officer.
Episode 9: The Legend of Bonnie and Carl: While on probation and having a curfew Fiona tries to find a job. While in detention Carl (played by Ethan Cutkosky) falls for the bad girl.
Episode 10: Liver, I Hardly Know Her: Fiona violates her probation and the family hunts for her. Sammi and Sheila (played by Joan Cusack) decide to look on the black market for a liver for Frank.
Episode 11: Emily: Mickey (played by Noel Fisher) has a choice to make – Ian or his family. Fiona begins a ninety day sentence for violating her parole.
Episode 12: Lazarus: Sheila and Sammi fight over what is best for Frank. Fiona is out of jail early and is given an obligatory job.
