Martial arts performing, ass kicking and tough guy talking Chuck Norris is front and center in this flashback to the show from the 90s. Basically it is a cops and robbers show but done from a Texas Ranger perspective.
Cordell Walker (Chuck Norris – The Expendables 2, The Way of the Dragon) and his partner James Trivette (Clarence Gilyard Jr. – Die Hard, Top Gun) are called in to investigate a murder. A geologist claims to have found the lost treasure of Hayes Cooper, a Texas Ranger from the time of the Wild West. He has spent most of his life trying to locate this lost treasure. Shortly after this the geologist is found dead.
Most of the story is told in flashbacks as Walker is delirious after having been bitten by a snake. Pretty ambitious and it seems like they have bitten off more than they can chew to be honest. The effort is there, but the result does not add up to something time worthy.
At certain points you will find yourself scratching your head and wondering if this is a parody because it is doing a fine job of mocking itself. But I don’t think so; I think everything was done with an intent that was pure. They are trying to entertain you. And they might be accomplishing just that because it is so dated and cheesy.
