There are a ton of things to do in Montreal in the summer. Sometimes it can be overwhelming with all the choices and things going on at the same time. It can also put a serious dent in your pocket book. I have the perfect option for you in that it will be fun, outdoors, involve movies, and best of all it is free.
Cinemania is the French language film festival that happens in town every fall. It has gotten so popular that they have extended it to include free screenings of some of their most popular films from the year before outdoors. The screenings are happening in different areas of town. For the first film, Diplomacy by Volker Schlöndorff, the public is invited to the red carpet where there will be hors d’oeuvres and drinks (on demand). You can not only see the film for free, but be treated like a VIP.
Here is the list of upcoming screenings:
Tuesday, July 14th – 8:30PM on the terrace of the Renoir restaurant of the Sofitel Hotel, the public is invited for a red carpet projection: DIPLOMACY, by Volker Schlöndorff starring Niels Arestrup and André Dussollier
