jordin sparks right here right nowLike almost every young artist Jordin Sparks came out of the gate being someone that your parents wouldn’t mind you listening to meaning that she was G-rated. Now, with her first album in six years, Sparks is bringing her fans a more mature and sexual side in her music. It is definitely a more adult R&B/hip hop album this time around. To help her accomplish this change of direction she has worked with Amy Winehouse’s producer, Salaam Remi. Showing her range and variety of interests there is even a reggae song on the album called “Casual Love” which features vocals from Shaggy. She has not completely forgotten her origins as there are a few tracks in which she really belts but is wise enough not to have too many ballads here as amidst all the upbeat dance tracks they seem kind of like a downer. Though at the end of the ballad “Tell Him That I Love Him” there is a vocal section and run that demonstrates what a great voice this young lady has.
