south park the complete eighteenth seasonHard to digest this but the kids on South Park would now be old enough to vote. The show has been on for eighteen seasons. Poking, prodding, grossing out, disregarding boundaries, and just plain entertaining have been the winning formula for South Park. To be on television that many seasons you know you are doing something right. Is it time to crown Trey Parker and Matt Stone the kings of animated television? I think if you use longevity, amount of quotes that have come out of the show, characters that everyone knows and creativity as your factors then the answer is yes.

Some may be put off by the oftentimes crass humour the show resorts to but to think that was all South Park is about then you are doing it a disservice with this superficial viewing of the rather clever show. Throughout the years and continuing this season social commentary is also a big aspect of the show and they are not afraid to take on anyone. Pop culture and politics along with the insanity of both are targets.

The ten episodes this season have no real overall theme. Rest assured that they touch upon all the hot topics du jour. Racist sports names like Washington Redskins, transgender, drones, modern technology, holograms, virtual reality, streaming and how the typical family structure is a thing of the past are all subjects of shows that you can sink your teeth into.
