Hunter Hayes and Carolyn Dawn Johnson make appearances on Country music singer Brett Kissel’s second album. They add to the catchy and fun feel to the eleven tracks on Pick Me Up. True to its title the album is a lot of fun and will have you singing along instantly. Brett Kissel is a great example of the energy that young Country singers are bringing to the genre. The first single off the album “Airwaves” has struck a chord with fans and as such the song is all over Country radio. There is some tempo change within the album as it is not all up tempo. There are some slower songs like “Feet Back on the Ground” and “Why Won’t You”. Demonstrating that the guy has range these two songs show that he is more than a one trick pony. The young Canadian cowboy says that George Strait is his main influence showing he knows the history of the genre and has the smarts to pattern himself after the best.
