When James Spader is part of something you can be sure that he brings plenty of quirky intelligence to it. This is a conspiracy-laden FBI special unit series and yes, it is smart and filled with plenty of quirks courtesy of Mr. Spader. Loads of fun while at the same time containing plenty of thrills and action in the storyline.
Raymond “Red” Reddington (played by James Spader) was a former special agent then went bad. For years now he has been on the FBI’s most wanted list. Due to his skills he was able to stay hidden then suddenly one day he turns himself in saying he wants to work with rookie FBI profiler Elizabeth Keen (played by Megan Boone). Once a deal is struck with Red and a whole new covert FBI special task force is created, Agent Keen’s life will never be the same. Red and Agent Keen work on something he calls the Blacklist. The Blacklist contains the names of some of the most evil, dangerous and vile criminals operating in the world. These people are spies, terrorists, mobsters and politicians – big targets, so the FBI is thrilled when the task force is able to put many behind bars.
Season two sees Liz finding out more about her hazy past, dealing with her ex-husband Tom (played by Ryan Eggold), figuring out whether she can really trust Red and going up against an shadowy yet incredibly powerful group called the Cabal.
