Living in Montreal comes with weather extremes. In summer it is hot and humid and the winters are cold and blustery. Most residents of the city have learned over the years to make the best of our climate and not to allow it to diminish our enjoyment of all it has to offer. Even in our cold winter people are looking to get outdoors as most of us spend our 9 to 5s indoors under artificial lighting. There is plenty to do outside in Montreal in the winter.
A bustling city like Montreal it is hard to keep track of all that is happening here. Sometimes the residents of a city are the worst at knowing what is being offered. For instance, the Mount Royal Park Evening Treks is one such example. I am sure not many people living here know that they can, during the dead of winter, go to the mountain and be offered a guided (in English or French) tour of the lovely environment while getting some exercise on snowshoes. Take this advantage to see this expansive and beautiful park in the winter. The views of the city from it are worth the price of admission alone.
The admission fee includes snowshoes and hot chocolate. Only your parking will cost you extra. You must make reservations. The beginning point is from Smith House on Remembrance Road.
