Rock star Slash has built a reputation over the years as one of the best guitarists ever to wield an axe. Formerly of Guns ‘N Roses, he began his rock career on Sunset Strip and then went on to play sold out stadiums across the globe. His most recent album release is World on Fire, which he put out with his current backing band, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. The iconic figure is profiled like never before in this ninety minute documentary.
The film begins with a live show at The Roxy which involves his latest songs as well as material from his Guns ‘N Roses and Velvet Revolver days then moves into the documentary portion. Interviews with other guitarists and rockers like Dave Grohl, Dave Mustaine, Lemmy, Joe Perry, Steve Lukather, Nikki Sixx and Alice Cooper really sheds light on the guy’s talent and influence. New and archival footage shows the man in action. Interviews with Slash himself are sprinkled throughout. It is interesting to hear this maestro of the instrument talk about what drove him, his influences and artists he collaborated with. A complete picture forms of how he became who he is and where he looks to be heading in the future.
