Mega producer Glen A. Larson, the man behind Knight Rider, The Six Million Dollar Man and Buck Rogers in the 25thCentury, struck gold when he came up with the outer space series, Battlestar Galactica. Along the lines of Star Trek the series started as a featured length film then spawned two different television series. In this collection you get the feature length film Battlestar Galactica, the 24 episodes of Battlestar Galactica: The Original Series along with the 10 episodes of the spin-off series, Galactica 1980.
Battlestar Galactica: The Original Series:
The Twelve Colonies are looking for one thing: peace. They have been at war for centuries with their enemies, the Cylons. Now it seems like they are on the dawn of a new era as a peace treaty is about to be signed. Sadly, it is not to be as on the night before the signing ceremony an aggressive act is undertaken by the Cylons against the Twelve Colonies. The attack comes as a complete surprise and is so devastating that it destroys the Colonies’ home planets along with most of their military forces. A single ship, the Battlestar flagship Galactica, survives and sets about trying to help the remaining Colonists. After the initial shock a plan is devised to set out for the far off planet of Earth.
