36-year-old Nick Carter is best known for being a member of the boy band, Backstreet Boys. For those too young, they were the 90s version of One Direction. Huge. This made Nick Carter a teen idol, so big that he had his own reality show, House of Carters and I (Heart) Nick Carter. He is also the older brother of singer Aaron Carter.
As is usually the case with boy bands, Backstreet Boys shone bright and then fizzled out as members got older. Nick Carter could see the light at the end of the tunnel band began working on some solo material. The Jamestown, New York native grew up in Florida and has been a member (the youngest) of the Backstreet Boys since he was 12-years-old. The band is reputedly working on another album to be released shortly. In between his Backstreet Boy gig Nick Carter has released three solo albums. Starting in 2002 with the release of Now or Never, he began working on his own. It took a while for his sophomore solo album, I’m Taking Off, to be released in 2011. After releasing a duet album called Nick & Knight with Jordan Knight, formerly of New Kids on the Block, in 2014, Carter released his latest solo album, All American, in 2015. 2015 was a busy year for Nick Carter as he also took part in the 21st season of Dancing With the Stars, in which he finished in 2nd place.
As is often the case with those who become mega stars at a young age, Nick Carter had his struggles with drugs and alcohol. In 2011 he came out that he got help and was now sober. This led to him marrying his longtime girlfriend Lauren Kitt.
