Going strong since the Eighties, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have always been equal to action and fun. This time Nickelodeon has made an animated feature featuring several favourites of kids everywhere – the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, aliens and dinosaurs. A fun combination!
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Leonardo (voiced by Seth Green), Donatello (voiced by Rob Paulson), Michelangelo (voiced by Greg Cipes) and Raphael (voiced by Sean Astin), are affected by the strange powers of a meteorite and are sent to the past along with their enemies, Bebop (voiced by J.B. Smoove) and Rocksteady (voiced by Fred Tatasciore). They end up traveling to the Cretaceous Period, where they meet two polar opposites – friendly dinosaurs and evil aliens with a dastardly plan. The aliens called the Triceratons want to take over the defenseless prehistoric Earth. Before trying to get home the Turtles have to try and derail the aliens plan.
Blast to the Past has a different look to it than most Nickelodeon animation in that it is not CG rather uses flash animation. Another difference is this is a lot more kid friendly than the station’s TMNT animated series from 2012. This means the story is a lot less dark, funnier and the action sequences are entertaining rather than brutal. The focus is more on the humour rather than the butt kicking.
