Also dubbed The White Album as this is the fourth self-titled album from the alt-rock band, it contains plenty of classic Weezer sounding songs. What that means is that they have tracks like “Wind in Our Sail” and “L.A. Girlz” that sound very much like the Beach Boys in their heyday. They even go so far in their reference of that classic American band by including the sound of waves crashing on the sand and seagulls shrieking on a track. Just in case you are thick and missed what they are doing. Something else they are doing is cementing their reputation as one of the most fun to listen to bands around. “L.A. Girlz” is just that and a song that gets better with each listen. Their songs contain melodies that are just so catchy that it is hard not to love them. You will find yourself smiling a lot and not be able to avoid singing along. They have gotten older (the band members are now twenty plus years into their careers) but not less fun. What is a total “boo” about the album is that it is only just over thirty minutes of music. Looking at the glass as half full it does leave you wanting more.
