Sometimes one member of a band overshadows the others so much that we forget that it is a band. Such is the case with Santana. Santana is a band with several members not just the moniker that guitar virtuoso Carlos Santana plays under. To remind us of that they have rebanded and released their fourth album in 2016 some forty six years after they played at Woodstock. Santana is the man behind the guitar, drumming is Michael Shrieve, singer-organist is Gregg Rolie, working the percussion is Michael Carabello and finally the junior member is guitarist Neil Schon, who went on to quit the band to be a part of Journey. Together again it is a total party in which they all sound like they are having the time of their lives. Santana and Schon play well off each other trading one solo for another. They are not a band just trying to recreate what they did in the past though there are moments of nostalgia to be found. And enjoyed. As you listen to “Leave Me Alone” it will transport you back to the late Sixties and the music produced around that time. There is plenty to sink your teeth into as the album runs about eighty minutes long. For fans of classic rock.
