This Norwegian has played sets at such prestigious festivals as Coachella, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo. He is no stranger to the big time due in part to his big hit songs “Firestone” and “Stole the Show”. Though what he creates is fairly predictable that hasn’t seemed to deter music fans one iota. A part of the fairly new EDM subgenre tropical house Kygo produces music that will keep your pool parties hopping. Nothing changes on his debut album Cloud Nine which is filled with killer synth hooks, moody piano riffs and tons of mid-tempo beats. House music influenced by laid back beach vibes. Reverb and a chill vibe pervade. On the fifteen tracks on the album a happy John Legend provides vocals on “Happy Birthday”, an ode to his newborn daughter and indie artists like Angus and Julia Stone and Matt Corby as well as R&B artists Will Heard and James Vincent McMorrow.
