Perfect example of modern rock in 2016 is the American band Young the Giant. They epitomize the sound of today. There is still some evolution going on though as Home of the Strange demonstrates they are not resting on their laurels. Previously they have been described as a rock band with plenty of Coldplay influence whereas now they are flying their New Wave flag. You’ll catch plenty of electronic sounds within most of the tracks. Catchier beats than they have ever indulged in previously. Will all their fans come along on this voyage? That remains to be seen. Tone wise this is the first time the band has dipped into the political pool. With members of the band being from all kinds of backgrounds (Indian, Persian and even Quebecois) it is understandable that where they stand within the American landscape is on their minds.
