Representing the 416: Drake

Drake at Toronto RaptorsNo one in the present day rap game is as hot as Canadian Drake. At the age of 29 he has become a big player in the rap/hip hop genre. He now has his own record label called OVO Sound, has won 3 Juno Awards, performed on the Grammy Awards show, won a Grammy Award, won 6 BET Awards, is an ambassador for the NBA’s Toronto Raptors, and collaborated with Jay Z, Eminem, Kanye West, Jeezy, and Lil Wayne. As I said, he’s quite a hot commodity.

Aubrey Drake Graham, born in Toronto, started off his career as an actor on the popular teen show, “Degrassi: The Next Generation. He then turned to music and signed with a label in 2009. From his debut EP the single “Best I Ever Had” went to the top of the charts. In one of the biggest bidding wars for a young artist, he then signed with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment label.

Drake released his debut album in 2010 entitled “Thank Me Later”. Singles “Miss Me Later”, “Find Your Love” and “Over” have all been Top 15 hits.  Hit songs like “Hotline Bling”, “Make Me Proud”, “Take Care”, “One Dance”, and “Hold On, We’re Going Home”.

The tour has been billed as Summer Sixteen and is co-headlined by rapper Future. Unfortunately at this point the show is sold out, so your options are ticket vendors like Stub Hub.
