Christmas in many parts of the world means the classic ballet, The Nutcracker. Here in Montreal it is presented annually by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. For over 50 years it has thrilled people of all ages.
At the Drosselmeyer house the holiday season is going full blast. It is Christmas Eve and the entire family gathers together. Gifts are being given to the children. Doctor Drosselmeyer gives his niece Clara a beautiful nutcracker. While she is asleep in her bed that night with the nutcracker beside safely put away her entire bedroom becomes something out of a fairy tale with mice and rats battling toy soldiers and her new gift transforming into a handsome prince.
A timeless and funny story backed by the beautiful music composed by Tchaikovsky. What more could you ask for? Make it your family’s Christmas tradition.
