Picking up where the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender left off, The Legend of Korra starts off seventy years after The War ended. The world is in a recovery period. To keep it going, the Avatar has been reborn as Korra. She is a seventeen-year-old girl from the Southern Water Tribe. Korra is a smart and strong young woman but she does have a temper. She has three elements mastered so she and Naga, her animal guide, move on to learn the others.

Episode 1: Welcome to Republic City: Korra is in training to be the new Avatar. After mastering firebending it is on to airbending.

Episode 2: A Leaf in the Wind: Under Tenzin, Korra begins her airbending training. Soon she feels the pull of the game Pro-Bending and sneaks off to play it.

Episode 3: The Revelation: Bolin is captured and taken away by The Equalists. Korro and Mako set out to try and find him.

Episode 4: The Voice in the Night: A task force is needed to go after Amon and the Chi Blockers.  Korra is selected and at first refuses to take part.

Episode 5: The Spirit of Competition: The time is here for the Pro-Bending Championships. A strong beginning by the Fire Ferrets is jeopardized by jealousy within the team.

Episode 6: And the Winner Is…: Amon makes a threat that if the council does not cancel the Pro-Bending Championships that the entire city is in jeopardy. After initially listening, the council changes its mind when Lin convinces them that the police will provide the necessary protection.

Episode 7: The Aftermath: Tarriok calls for the resignation of Lin after the attack on the Pro-Bending arena. Lin is bound and determined to keep the city safe so she makes raids to uncover Equalists.

Episode 8: When Extremes Meet: Lin puts in her resignation as Chief of Police. Captain Saikhan takes over.

Episode 9: Out of the Past: Tarriok has Korra and hides her in a cage outside of town. Then the city believes that The Equalists are responsible for the attacks but it is because Tarriok is leading them to believe this.

Episode 10: Turning the Tides: Korra is back in Republic City and resting. The council meets to decide what to do with Tarriok.

Episode 11: Skeletons in the Closet: Amon is in control of Republic City while Team Avatar goes into hiding. The Equalists have a new weapon and use it to defeat the United Forces in short order.

Episode 12: Endgame: Team Avatar gets together and plans to defeat The Equalists once and for all. Korra and Mako go to battle against Amon, who they have revealed as a waterbender.

Book Two: Spirits:

A continuation or offshoot of the Nickelodeon series Avatar The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra continues its tale with Book Two.  Meant for older kids, it is the tale of a girl named Korra who has been found to be the next Avatar. As an Avatar only she will that the power and know how to put the world back in a balance between the physical and spiritual world. Her training is continuing but not fast enough for her liking. This causes her to make a rash decision and this decision puts the entire human world in jeopardy.

 

Episode 1: Rebel Spirit: Korra struggles in an attempt to find a deeper connection with the Spirit World. The Avatar, her family and friends attend a Southern Water Tribe Festival.

 

Episode 2: The Southern Lights: Korra travels with her uncle Chief Unalaq on a dangerous attempt to locate the source of a great spiritual power. Untrusting of his brother, Korra’s father insists on coming with them.

 

Episode 3: Civil Wars: Part 1: Tension is rising between the Northern and Southern Water Tribes. It is a battle for Korra to remain neutral.

 

Episode 4: Civil Wars: Part 2: Korra’s parents are unfairly arrested. Korra has to break her neutrality to fight for their freedom.

 

Episode 5: Peacekeepers: The President of the United Republic refuses to lend his help to Korra. Feeling she has no other choice, Korra takes matters into her own hands.

 

Episode 6: The Sting: Future Industries’ future is put in jeopardy by Triad activity. Mako begins to look into things and finds an even bigger conspiracy than he could have imagined.

 

Episode 7: Beginnings: Part 1: Korra learns about the origins of the first Avatar.

 

Episode 8: Beginnings: Part 2: Korra looks even deeper into the past of the Avatars’. After doing so she realizes what she has to do to restore peace and balance between the physical and spiritual world.

 

Episode 9: The Guide: Korra asks Tenzin (voiced by JK Simmons) for help to enter the Spirit World. This would be her first time going there.

 

Episode 10: A New Spiritual Age: Korra finally manages to enter the Spirit World. Once there she has trouble getting her head around the Avatar’s relationship with the spirits.

 

Episode 11: Night of a Thousand Stars: President Raiko is attacked. Bonin manages to be the hero of the day.

 

Episode 12: Harmonic Convergence: Korra with the help of others attempts to close the Spirit Portals. This must be done before Harmonic Convergence.

 

Episode 13: Darkness Falls: A new part of Unalaq’s dastardly plan reveals itself to Korra. In order to save his daughter Tenzin has to face his own demons.

 

Episode 14: Light in the Dark: Korra discovers a way that she may be able to defeat the Ultimate Dark Spirit. In order to save the world she must be successful.

Book Three: Change:

The story continues as humans move into a new age in which spirits and humans coexist. Change is Book Three and brings about the discovery of two new Airbenders. Korra (voiced by Janet Varney) puts it upon herself to find these two new Airbenders and travels around looking for them. She wants to rebuild the Air Nation. Characters become a lot more fleshed out and complex in Book Three making the animated series a much more inviting watch. Spiritual and emotional issues are touched upon.

 

Episode 1: A Breath of Fresh Air: The bending world, as discovered by Korra, has undergone a big shift because of Harmonic Convergence. Vines that have taken over the city don’t seem to be easily rid of plus spirits seem to be living within them.

 

Episode 2: Rebirth: Korra and the Avatar Team begin a voyage to restart the Air Nation. They start with the Earth Kingdom in their search for new Airbenders.

 

Episode 3: The Earth Queen: The search for Airbenders continues on to Ba Sing Se. A crash course is needed in how to please the uptight and demanding Earth Queen.

 

Episode 4: In Harm’s Way: It comes to light that the Earth Queen is forcing all the Airbenders in Ba Sing Se to join her army. Korra tries to come up with a way to free them.

 

Episode 5: The Metal Clan: Korra and the Avatar Team travel to the metal city of Zaofu. The Air Temple Training Camp welcomes a new member.

 

Episode 6: Old Wounds: Korra begins to practice metal bending. Beifong (voiced by Anne Heche) has to face up to her past.

 

Episode 7: Original Airbenders: Tenzin (voiced by JK Simmons) begins the training of the new Airbenders. Bumi (voiced by Richard Riehle) demonstrates a poor attitude.

 

Episode 8: The Terror Within: An attempted abduction of Korra is led by Zaheer (voiced by Henry Rollins) and his group. Korra’s friends believe that someone on the inside is helping the enemy.

 

Episode 9: The Stakeout: The Avatar Team is being pursued by both the Earth Queen and Zaheer’s gang. Korra finds out the truth about who is trying to destroy her.

 

Episode 10: Long Live the Queen: Asami (voiced by Seychelle Gabriel) and Korra find themselves stranded in the desert. In Ba Sing Se the Earth Queen makes a deal to get Mako (voiced by David Faustino) and Bolin (voiced by P.J. Byrne) back.

 

Episode 11: The Ultimatum: Mako and Bolin bring back a threatening message from Zaheer to Korra. It is that the Red Lotus will attack the Northern Air Temple unless Korra turns herself over.

 

Episode 12: Enter the Void: Korra makes a huge sacrifice. Team Avatar comes up with a plan to save the Airbenders.

 

Episode 13: Venom of the Red Lotus: Zaheer begins his dastardly plan. Korra is captured by the Red Lotus and poisoned.

Book Four: Balance:

In this animated world the Avatar is the savior of the Earth Kingdom. It is only the Avatar who can unite the four elements – air, fire, water and earth. The latest Avatar’s name is Korra (voiced by Janet Varney) and she is about to undergo her most treacherous time yet. At the beginning of this book Korra is a changed young woman who has undergone much and is not sure she will ever be able to undertake the duties of being the Avatar again.  She has withdrawn from everything. Only to resurface when the power hungry Kuvira (voiced by Zelda Williams) takes over and the Avatar is needed to set things right. As this is the last season you know you are in for a momentous climax.

 

Episode 1: After All These Years: Three years have gone by since Zaheer poisoned Korra. As she has withdrawn to heal the rest of Team Avatar has begun to pick up the pieces of their lives.

 

Episode 2: Korra Alone: The metal poison is still having its effects on Korra. Tenzin (voiced by J.K. Simmons) realizes that Korra has gone missing.

 

Episode 3: The Coronation: Kuvira puts a damper on Prince Wu’s (voiced by Sunil Malhotra) big day. Korra thinks she has finally figured out the way to feel like her old self.

 

Episode 4: The Calling: Tenzin sends Jinora (voiced by Kiernan Shipka), Ikki (voiced by Darcy Rose Byrnes) and Meelo (voiced by Logan Wells) off on a hunt for Korra. Toph (voiced by Philece Sampler) attempts to teach Korra to let go of the past.

 

Episode 5: Enemy at the Gates: Zaofu is under threat from Kuvira. A conflict between Beifong (voiced by Anne Heche) and Kuvira has Bolin (voiced by P.J. Byrne) caught in the crossfire.

 

Episode 6: Battle Zaofu: Korra is once again the Avatar. The question is if she is truly ready.

 

Episode 7: Reunion: Korra is back in Republic City only to find out that Prince Wu is missing. Team Avatar sets out to find him.

 

Episode 8: Remembrances: Wu is in exile with Mako’s family. Mako (voiced by David Faustino) tells the story of how he met Korra.

 

Episode 9: Beyond the Wilds: Republic City is under attack by the Spirit Vines. Korra has to try and stop them from abducting citizens.

 

Episode 10: Operation Beifong: Opal (voiced by Alyson Stoner), Lin (voiced by Mindy Sterling) and Bolin attempt to save the Beifongs from Kuvira. Korra goes to the Spirit World looking for help.

 

Episode 11: Kuvira’s Gambit: Korra and Team Avatar make an attempt to stop Kuvira from attacking Republic City. Kuvira has a new weapon that is going to make it difficult.

 

Episode 12: Day of the Colossus: The streets of Republic City is the site of a battle between Kuvira and Team Avatar. Prince Wu and Pema (voiced by Maria Bamford) attempt to evacuate the city’s citizens.

 

Episode 13: The Last Stand: Korra goes head to head with Kuvira. The fate of the Earth Kingdom and Korra’s life hang in the balance.
