It is not often that fans of reggae or more accurately reggaeton get to see a show in such a large venue in Montreal. Here is your chance! The 36-year-old Puerto Rican will be performing at the Bell Centre.
Been a part of the reggaeton world since the age of ten, Nicky Jam (he was given his stage name by a homeless man) was “discovered” by music executive at the age of 14, who signed him and the young man quickly released his debut album, …Distinto A Los Demas. Twenty-two years later he is still in the game making music.
While his album did not sell well it did gain him some attention. Particularly from Daddy Yankee. During the late 90s and early 2000s the two joined forces to become Los Cangris. The music the duo released was commercially successful. Disagreements led to them going their separate ways in 2004.
It has pretty much been a solo career for Nicky Jam since then. Releasing a couple of albums until taking a long break after 2007’s The Black Carpet. It was radio silence until just this year when he released Fenix.
