24907FBA0-9A76-FBC6-61FFCBEECBEF81A7NVSN (pronounced like “invasion”) premiere their new single, a cover of Lana Del Rey’s “Love” via Consequence of Sound today. A full-bodied take on the Del Rey’s song, the single comes days before the band embarks on their first North American tour in support of their latest LP, The Beautiful Stories now available via Dine Alone Records worldwide (minus Scandinavia). The band tells Consequence of Sound about what drew them to doing the cover, “Deciding to do a Lana Del Rey cover was easy. Her interest in the American undercurrent/underclass mirrors our interest in the others, the misfits and the freaks, the revolutionaries, the dreamers and the broken. She is the Hegelian contradiction that is one of the most fascinating aspects of America.”Listen to the track HERE. The song is available as of Friday, September 1 HERE.
INVSN kicks off their Fall tour on September 6 in New Jersey, and will perform in Montreal on September 12Toronto on September 13 and Vancouver on September 28.
The Beautiful Stories is a creative construction between five musically seasoned Swedes, notably the duo of frontman Dennis Lyxzén (Refused, (International) Noise Conspiracy) and longtime collaborator Sara Almgren ((International) Noise Conspiracy). Recorded by Adam “Atom” Greenspan (Nick Cave, The Veils) at Svenska Grammofonstudion in Gothenburg, The Beautiful Storiesbuzzes with eclecticism, wherein catchy indie rock with pop sensibilities exists alongside industrial electronics. This is post-punk underpinned by repressed anger and frustration serving as a punch in the face of a mendacious society.
Best known for prominent members Dennis Lyxzén (Refused and (International) Noise Conspiracy) and Sara Almgren, ((International) Noise Conspiracy) INVSN is a longtime band that began in 2010 and is a stark sonic contrast to Lyxzen’s & Almgren’s punk and hardcore roots. The group’s other members include Christina Karlsson of Tiger Forest Cat, Anders Stenberg of Lykke Li’s band and Deportees and André Sandström of DS-13, making the five piece strong and musically seasoned.
