Normally if I was to try and entice you to go see a show by saying it centers around bugs or insects you would not be so inclined. If I were to throw in that it was a Cirque du Soleil show then I bet it would change your not interested attitude to when are we going.
Ovo is the name of the show and it involves a world that is crawling with insects. The show is filled with non-stop energy with the insects always busy building, working, playing or fighting. It is a world of biodiversity and action. Rather beautiful to look at. Their daily routines are interrupted when a large egg (Ovo) appears. Curiousity takes over and the insects want to find out what the egg is all about. In actuality it represents their life cycles.
As with all Cirque du Soleil shows the costumes are amazing in their detail and colour. The sets and lighting are innovative. And the music is note perfect. Each act involves a different insect doing something amazing. Amazing as in ants that juggle, fleas that a very flexible, spiders that spin silky threads, and crickets that are a little crazy.
