About Chanda M

Chanda M is the nom de plume of Mona Lissa Chanda, an artist who’s journey is filled with delicious paradoxes that fuel her creativity.  She is also a Ph.D. in Psychology practicing her first love—music and poetry. Driven by this dual passion for music and sciences, she worked as a researcher at McGill University and published papers on the neurochemistry of music together with New York Times best-selling author Dr. Daniel J. Levitin. In collaboration with Juno Award-winning producer Rob Heaney (Cirque du Soleil, Patrick Watson), she recorded the 2013 indie folk rock EP Tip of My Tongue under the name Mona Lissa & The Brink. Critics praised the EP, comparing it to Sarah Brightman’s acclaimed 1993 album Dive. In winter 2015. she started recording new material under the nom de plume Chanda M, in collaboration with Raphael Rosenwald (early collaborator with The Dears and Arcade Fire) and Michael Rien of Primal Urge Productions.
