Clever and original. And of course, damn funny. Not surprising as the brilliant in whatever she does Tina Fey is involved.
What really makes this comedy stand out in a crowd is the perfect casting, the willingness by all to do anything to get a laugh and the originality of the episodes. Each episode is different from the one before it. You never get bored. The comedic team of Fey/Alec Baldwin/Tracy Morgan is top notch. A strong ensemble of actors. The writing/comedy is zany enough to separate it from others but not so much so that you cannot relate to what is going on. Women in their 30s and 40s will really be able to relate to many of the situations which Liz Lemon (played by Tina Fey) finds herself in.
Liz Lemon is the creator and head writer behind a television show centered on women, The Girlie Show. The rug is pulled out from under her when the studio assigns a new television boss. Jack Donaghy (played by Alec Baldwin) comes in a changes everything. He reworks the show to The Tracy Jordan Show starring…of course…stand up comedian Tracy Jordan (played by Tracy Morgan). Liz is going to be put through the wringer as Tracy is unpredictable to say the least, Jack has fired the show’s producer and Liz’s friend Pete (played by Scott Adsit) and her friend and the former lead on The Girlie Show, Jenna Maroney (played by Jane Krakowski), is a little unhinged with all the changes.
After watching one show you will be hooked!
