This is a teenager’s heaven. Plenty of drama in a small town. Love. High school. Family stuff. Lacrosse. Shirtless guys. Cute girls. Angst. Crushes. Cool kids. Geeks. And werewolves. What more could you ask for? MTV knows what it is doing when it comes to creating television that will attract teenagers by the busload.
Loosely (and I mean very loosely) based on the Michael J. Fox feature film of the same name from 1985, Teen Wolf is dark and edgy. All that is balanced by some welcomed comedy mostly in the form of the character named Stiles (played by Dylan O’Brien).
Scott (played by Tyler Posey) is settling in to being a werewolf as well as his relationship with Allison (played by Crystal Reed). Of course, you know in a show like this that things are not going to smoothly for very long. Soon they are searching for their disappeared friend Lydia (played by Holland Roden), Allison is trying to resist becoming a werewolf hunter like the rest of her family and Scott is trying to stop Derek (played by Tyler Hoechlin) from turning every teenager in town into a member of his pack. Then there is Allison’s family – father (played by JR Bourne), mother (played by Eaddy Mays) and grandfather (played by Michael Hogan).
As the show matures into its second season it shows that it knows how to deliver the goods. The climax is a true cliffhanger. With multiple shocks and surprises.
