The 20th century is around the corner but for Detective William Murdoch (played by Yannick Bisson) things haven’t really changed. He is still tasked with solving all the toughest crimes that happen in and around Toronto. To do this all he needs is some science and his powerful brain. Kinda like Canada’s Sherlock Holmes.
Best way to describe the show is: outstanding acting, directing, storylines, serious with a touch of humor, what more could one want? Last season ended with a cliffhanger and they take it up at the beginning of this one. Unlike many other shows the resolution, though sad in some ways, is satisfying. Meaning the resolution makes sense and is true to the timber of the show. Love the way they weave into the story real characters or actual historical events. Brings a level of realism.
Different than most crime shows on television there is a certain charm to Murdoch Mysteries. That is why it has gone strong for as long as it has. It is assumed the identity of a show like Law & Order. In that it has gone on for many seasons and no matter what time of day you can turn on the television and find it on.
