Launched in 2000 by American students passionate about bacon, International Bacon Day is held on the Saturday preceding Labor Day. This unofficial celebration involves social gatherings around dishes containing bacon (and even soy-based bacon). The day was celebrated for the first time in Quebec in 2014.
Begun in 2015 by the restaurateurs of Quartier DIX30 as a playful (and greedy) nod to International Bacon Day, Bacon Week is back! From September 1st to 9th, 18 exclusive creations will be offered at the same number of establisments in the Quartier.
On the occasion of the fourth edition of Bacon Week, Quartier DIX30 chefs and foodies have created 18 exclusive dishes featuring “bacon pleasures”.
Decadent dishes, always delicious, the versatility of the star ingredient: bacon combines with maki and sashimi, gourmet tacos and duck confit poutine, clam chowder or shrimp and prosciutto, loukoumades, churros and others. From discoveries to revisited classics, the “magic of bacon” operates in 18 gourmet creations to savor during this thematic week.

The art of starting the day with something that satiates your appetite: the dish includes bacon with a delicious omelette with caramelized pears and brie cheese, then topped with honey, pepper and roasted almonds.

Your taste buds navigate between land and sea! Set the course for this chowder thought up by the chefs of the CAFÉ DU THÉÂTRE. A trio of clams, scallops and mussels, punctuated by the sweetness of fresh corn kernels and the salty crispy bacon flank.
