HOOPS & LOOPS: Combining Basketball with Code!

Kids Code Jeunesse (KCJ), in partnership with the NBA, is pleased to announce an exciting basketball-themed community coding event in Montreal as part of NBA Canada Series presented by Bell.

On Tuesday, October 9, NBA Legend Jerome “Junk Yard Dog” Williams, will join local children at Westmount High School in Montreal for an exciting afternoon full of interactive coding activities with 160 students. Through this event, KCJ and the NBA aim to demonstrate the vast possibilities of code and highlight the increasing importance of using and promoting code in non-STEM fields, such as sports.

Hoops & Loops, among other KCJ projects, is funded by SSENSE and a $6 million dollar commitment from the federal government’s CanCode program. Through CanCode funding and KCJ initiatives, 70,000 children and 2,000 teachers across the country will have the opportunity to receive training in 21st century digital skills.
