Bigfoot now becomes Smallfoot. Meaning their has been a switcheroo in regards to the legend of large footed yeti. Based on the books Yeti Tracks written by Sergio Pablos, this is a story of courage and friendship. Voicing the story is a slew of big names like Channing Tatum, Zendaya, Patricia Heaton, Gina Rodriguez, James Corden, Danny Devito, Common and LeBron James. Also features music by Niall Horan, Cyn and Zendaya.

Young yeti Migo (voiced by Channing Tatum) comes across something he thought did not exist – he stumbles upon a human! The smallfoot is named Percy (voiced by James Corden) has an entire Yeti village in a tizzy. They all now wonder what else could be out there that they were not aware of. Want to cling to their long held beliefs that humans do not exist. To prove what he saw, Migo gets his friend Meechee (voiced by Zendaya) and the Smallfoot Evidentiary Society to help him.

A fun film for both young and old. Most importantly is that it has a solid story as well as important messages. The twist on the typical story where in this telling yetis do not believe that humans exist is clever. Shows how important it is to see things from others’ points of view. That good things can come out of challenging long held beliefs.

Kids will spend the film laughing at the gags while adults will appreciate the message. The jokes and sight gags help things remain fun and not too preachy. Though I did appreciate the fact that they went further down than surface level in regards to the story. Interesting look at why the yetis would not even try to find out if humans did exist instead just rely on dogma was a rather timely topic. Being fearful and closeminded is what much of the world is falling victim to of late. While this is not quite at the Pixar quality level it is good. The colourful animation and fast pace led by directors Karey Kirkpatrick and Jason Reisig keep things engaging.
