A real treasure as the animated shorts found here had been lost for a period of time, so have not been available. Found and cleaned up, they are now in this blu-ray collection. The shorts here are made up of the first two seasons (1943-44 and 1944-45) of the Popeye series.
If you are a fan then these shorts will feel like home to you as they involve not only the brawny sailor but also regular characters like Olive Oyl and Bluto. Plus his sidekick sailor Shorty and his three mischievous nephews, Pipeye, Poopeye and Peepeye make appearances. Stories are as you would expect with a lot of time taken up by the competition for Olive’s affections by Popeye and Bluto. Plenty of gratuitous violence and laughs.
Everything looks amazing here as colour has been added. First time you will be able to own these shorts at home.
