The Desert return with their new single ‘Bitterness’, the centrepiece from their forthcoming ‘Winning You Back EP’, set for release on 8th March. Following on from a busy end to 2018, with several UK tour dates, a sold-out hometown show in Bristol and a BBC Introducing session, the band are gearing for the first visit to the US having been confirmed for this year’s SXSW.

Speaking of the new single Bitterness, lead singer and songwriter Gina Leonard describes how“it’s about coming to terms with being screwed over and accepting it and moving forward because it won’t do any good to stew in bitterness. I had written some angry songs, but they didn’t sit right and didn’t have a good message, so I was happy when this one came out.”

Formed in Bristol by Gina Leonard and Tom Fryer The Desert are gaining rapid attention with their blistering, bitter-sweet, dark-pop world.

They first came to the world’s attention in June 2017 with the release of their haunting debut single ‘Just Get High’. Its release received airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, Radio X and the Apple Music Chill List. This and the subsequent praise for follow up singles ‘Gone’ and ‘Distract Me’ capped off a busy 2018.

Having won the support of BBC Introducing, the band will set up 2019 with the launch of their much-anticipatedWinning You Back EP at SXSW.
