Indie Montreal‘s IMTL Booking is excited to announce the return of French rock group Radio Elvis on Wednesday, February 20 at l’Astral at 8 pm. The group is touring on their latest album Ces Garçons-Là. Tickets are on sale here for $23 in advance and $28 day of show. Karkwa’s Julien Sagot will open the show.

Hailing from France, Radio Elvis is a stylish and ambitious trio that could very well have seen daylight in London alongside King Krule or in rock-age Bordeaux. Reinventing rock and French chanson tropes and communicating a more modern and dream-like esthetic, their second album Ces Garçons -Là follows Les Conquêtes, released in 2016. The LP won the band “Best New Artist” at France’s 2017 Victoires de la Musique (France’s Grammys).

On this new album, the group nestles itself between rock, punk and pop influences while describing the ironic solitude of big cities. Produced by France’s Pierrick Devin (Phoenix, Depeche Mode, Nekfeu, Lily Wood & The Prick), the album assumes its hybrid sound woven around poetic texts, Radio Elvis‘ DNA.

The group plays their first headline show in Quebec on February 20th at l’Astral, returning to the province for the first time in two years, following an acclaimed performance opening for Louise Attaque at MTelus during Francofolies de Montréal in 2016. Presented by Les Francos, Evenko and Greenland, the concert will feature opening act Julien Sagot, percussionist for the band Karkwa who launched his solo career in 2012.
