Excited to announce that Rayannah will go back on the road this spring to support her forthcoming album Nos repaires (Our Haunts). She will be performing in Montreal on April 12th at Le Ministère.
On the heels of her first full-length album Nos repaires (Our Haunts), due out on March 8, 2019, Rayannah will hit the road in Canada and Europe. Kicking off the tour with a hometown album launch show at Winnipeg’s West End Cultural Centre on March 16th (presented by Jazz Winnipeg), Rayannah will continue on Paris, Geneva, Berlin, Toronto, Ottawa and finally Montreal on April 12th at Le Ministère. The Franco-Manitoban composer-performer will take the opportunity to unveil her latest live show.Ponteix, fronted by album co-producer Mario Lepage, will share the stage in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.
Nos repaires (Our Haunts) explores both personal and collective realities. Having travelled substantially over many years while composing for the album, the songs run through experiences and emotions lived by Rayannah across numerous places and timeframes. The March 8 launch date was chosen carefully. With a number of the album’s tracks having risen out of sexist exchanges and incidents, International Women’s Day is a particularly fitting occasion for the album’s release.
Rayannah will also play RIDEAU in Quebec City, the province’s premier cultural showcase and trade show event. She will play the ANIM Showcase alongside LGS and Pierre Guitard on Tuesday, February 19 between 5 and 7 p.m. at The Quebec Hilton’s Les Plaines room.
About Rayannah
Rayannah bends noise into music by running voice, breath, synth and percussion through loop pedals. Underscored by intricate beat-making, her evocative lyrics in French and English rise above dense soundscapes, pulling listeners into a world both dark and sweet.
Innovative on stage and in the studio, Rayannah is now unveiling music from her first full length album “Nos repaires (Our Haunts)” due out on March 8, 2019. Beginning with singles “En attendant demain” and “Best of You”, this new collection of songs pursues and pushes the sounds and textures explored in Rayannah’s debut EP Boxcar Lullabies.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Rayannah has taken her electro-soul across Canada, to the West Coast of the US, and to Europe. Whether opening for Esperanza Spalding or Coeur de Pirate, fronting her band or performing alone on stage, Rayannah shares something raw, intimate, and transcendent all at once.
