This is what Gossip Girl fans love about the show – sex, drama, romances, broken hearts, schemes, plots, secrets, and dysfunctional families. All set against the backdrop of the elite in NYC. What could be more fun? Yes, the plots are totally unrealistic, but who cares? Especially when they are this much fun. Totally a guilty pleasure.

Though it is the summer the action is still hot and heavy amongst the friends. Serena (played by Blake Lively) has escaped to sunny California for the summer by managing to find herself a job in Los Angeles with a film company. Chuck (played by Ed Westwick) and Nate (played by Chace Crawford). Nate meets a beautiful older woman (played by Elizabeth Hurley) and they hook up at a Hollywood Hills party. Blair (played by Leighton Meester) is back in New York City with her new beau, the prince of Monaco Louis Grimaldi (played by Hugo Becker). She announces to everyone that they are to be married and the planning of the biggest wedding on the Upper East Side in some time. Of course, Blair is having to deal with Louis’s family and Chuck during this hectic time. Dan (played by Penn Badgley) is on the warpath as someone, without his authorization, has had one of of his stories published anonymously. Finally, the whole Van Der Woodsen family is thrown for a loop when cousin Charlie (played by Kaylee DeFer) comes back into their lives.

Season five contains cameos by Jenny Lewis, Michael Michele, Marina Squerciati, Vera Wang, Desmond Harrington, and William Baldwin.
