Indie rock artist Havens releases Taking Me Away, the final single of his trilogy of songs that examine the theme of love from various perspectives.
Written by Havens, Taking Me Away follows the story of letting go of the past and embracing the feeling and excitement of newfound love. Havens’ baritone vocals and multi-layered guitar intricacies dance above a tight groove provided by producer and bassist Ian Madden and Juno award-winning drummer, Tim Oxford.
“Peace In Darkness was about cherishing fleeting love while you have it,” comments Havens. “Fall was about the monotony and hopelessness of dating. Taking Me Away is about finding the real deal and leaving any past mistakes behind.”
Taking Me Away’s release follows the success of his previous hit collaborations with Ian Madden and Tim Oxford, Peace In Darkness and Fall. Peace In Darkness is an ode to the classic love story with a dance-rock feel, while Fall is a catchy indie-rock jam with a bouncy bass line and shimmering jangly guitars and synths. Combined, both singles have garnered over 106,000 streams on Spotify and over 1 million media impressions across Canada.
