Gotham does not seem like a place I would like to live. A magnet for villains and as a result too much crime. In season two of this series it seems like they just keep on popping up out of everywhere. Even worse is that every new one that comes forward seems more evil and destructive than the previous one. Some of these dastardly characters band together to make themselves even more dangerous.

Trying to capture all these baddies are detectives Jim Gordon (played by Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock (played by Donal Logue). During this season Jim has some issues of right and wrong or what he is doing in his job while at the same time he is trying to get closer to the young Bruce Wayne (played by David Mazouz). Bruce is trying to become the hero that we know he is capable of being.

Also in season two we get the introduction of well-known characters like The Riddler (played by Cory Michael Smith), Catwoman (played by Carmen Bicondova), Hugo Strange (played by BD Wong), and Mr. Freeze.

What is really strong about this series are the production values.  The sets and costumes are fantastic. Really add to the story and give the whole thing a comic book feel and look. The storytelling has also become stronger in the second season with cool developments and interesting character maturations. It has definitely improved on what it established in the first season.

A must watch for fans of Batman.
