Time traveling combined with bodice ripping romance. Interesting combo, no?
Such is Outlander, a series based on the novels by Diana Gabaldon.
This season our attractive time travelers find themselves in colonial America. Starting off in North Carolina, Jamie (played by Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (played by Caitriona Balfe) are attempting to establish a life for themselves on this side of the Atlantic ocean. It is a rough, but beautiful time and landscape in the history of the territory which would become the United States. Jamie and Claire find that out…sometimes the hard way. What would we expect from a time in which Americans are on the edge of the American Revolution!?!
In the course of all this the Frasers come in contact with pirate and smuggler Stephen Bonnet (played by Ed Speleers). What he brings with him is pain and tragedy. More than Claire and Jamie could have ever imagined.
All of this involves two people from the 20th century, Claire and Jamie’s daugher, Brianna (played by Sophie Skelton) and her kinda boyfriend, Roger Wakefield (played by Richard Rankin). They have fallen in love in the 1970s and then find out something which causes them to consider a vistit to the magic stones.
