Film Noir au Canal, the cult crime film festival on the banks of the Lachine Canal, is pleased to announce the second screening of its 5th edition, which runs until August 18, 2019. This Sunday, July 21, the drama Casque d’or (1952)directed by Jacques Becker will be screened at St. Patrick’s Square, in the original French version with English subtitles.
The event will begin with the music of the Montreal’s Ukulele Club, animating the audience and setting the tone for the evening. A presentation of the film by Guillaume Lafleur, director of programming at the Cin math que Qu b coise, will follow.
Starring Simone Signoret, Serge Reggiani and Claude Dauphin, Casque d’or is a Belle poque tragedy based on the infamous love triangle between the prostitute Am lie lie and the Apache gang leaders Manda and Leca. The screening will start at dusk, around 8:45 p.m.
