Unless you don’t have a heart, this is a total tearjerker. I mean, dogs are not called man’s best friend for nothing. The bond between humans and their dogs is a strong one. Pure love is great to watch.
This one carries forward from where A Dog’s Purpose left off. Bailey (voiced by Josh Gad) is once again the four legged star. He and Ethan (played by Dennis Quaid) are still together, but what Bailey has to do is different. This time he is the protector of Ethan’s granddaughter CJ (played by Kathryn Prescott). Whatever the cost. This is a love which will span through several lives – for Bailey.
Universal themes are jumped into with two feet here. Everyone, even those rare people out there who have never owned a dog, can relate to the issues brought up here. Aging, love, loss, friendship, etc.
In today’s world we could all do with a dose of positive mindset and this film fills that particular void. I am in no way arguing that this is a perfect film. Just one that will make you laugh, smile, cry and feel plenty.
