After a run of glistening new tracks (‘System’, ‘Lessons’) at the back end of 2018, Sinead Harnett has unveiled the official video to new single, ‘By Myself’. The track forms her first new material of 2019 and a primer to a much-anticipated full-length project due later this year.
Produced by Stint, ‘By Myself’ is a smooth, sparkling RnB jam that sees Harnett’s on-the-money songwriting and remarkable vocals take centre stage, as she explores the complex emotions that underpin relationships.
“By Myself was inspired by a ‘can’t live with, can’t live without’ relationship”, Sinead explains. “When you know you’re not the most compatible for each other, but you can’t imagine your partner being anybody else. That bitter sweet notion of always coming back to them, even if it’s not the healthiest thing to be doing.”
A singer-songwriter with a remarkable back catalogue – features on records by Rudimental, Disclosure, Kaytranada, Snakehips and more helped solidify her reputation as one of the UK’s brightest talents – Sinead has spent her recent career bound to the studio, diligently working away on her debut, full-length record. She also recently played a sold-out headline show at iconic London venue, KOKO, in November and recorded a special live version of 2018 single, ‘Body’, for COLORS, which has amassed just shy of 10 million views to date – watch it here.
