The zombie apocalypse has occurred and this series deals with the aftermath. A small group of survivors has banded together and now travel in search of security. A voyage across the United States looking for some space out of the reach of the zombies. The group is led by former police officer Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln). As time passes this group becomes more and more desperate and will do anything to remain alive. The interpersonal disputes between members of the group threaten everyone’s survival. Zombies seeking their blood and a rough terrain takes its toll on each and they change much from the people they were before all this.
Firmly on the zombie bandwagon the show focuses more on the humans rather than the zombies and as such does not overload us with the clich s that other series have been guilty of. Zombies are in the background and the focus is mostly on how humans react under stressful situations. Strong acting along with believable stories and characters lends an air of realism to the sometimes out there happenings. A straight shooting horror drama, The Walking Dead gives us a little bit of everything
